Many of you have asked about the wind down on Friends + Rivals Series 3.  That time is here.  Next Thursday, December 24th, we’ll be awarding Series 3 Spire packs, so you have 1 week to finish those Series 3 National sets.

Also due to a very significant change by Facebook around how items are published on their site, we will not be able to start Series 4 pack awards for publishing items to Facebook or granting Facebook permissions. There is a chance we’ll not be able to do a Series 4, but more details as we have them.

Remember that during tomorrow morning’s update, we’ll be awarding Spire Friends+Rivals Series 2 packs for each Series 2 Fathers & Sons National set you’ve collected. Time is running out to finish that National set! Members will also receive their Spire Friends+Rivals Series 2 packs during the update.

Also after tomorrow’s update, we’ll start awarding new Series 3 Friends+Rivals packs for Facebook permissions, publishing notable achievements to your profile and accepted invitations from Facebook friends. There’s more than a few fun cards in Series 3!

Many of you have asked about the Friends + Rivals cards. The next installment, Series 3, - is coming.  We are planning on taking some of the things we learned from Series 1 and are applying them to this release. Here are the details:

• You will earn a Spire pack for each set of Series 2 National cards you have completed - i.e., collect 2 National complete sets, get 2 Spire packs
• Members will get Spire packs of Series 2 cards as part of their Baseball Boss Member benefits - so if you’re thinking about becoming a Baseball Boss Member, now would be a good time
• We will not be putting Series 2 Spires on sale, so these are the ways you’ll get them
• We want to give players ample time to complete Series 2 sets, so we will be awarding Series 2 Spire packs on September 1st
• Remember you can earn up to 3 packs of National Friends + Rivals cards every day by granting Baseball Boss Facebook permissions and publishing notable Baseball Boss events to your Facebook page
• Series 3 will resemble Series 1 in its composition…meaning it’s not about an overall theme as Fathers & Sons was in Series 2 (fresh off the weekend Yankees - Sox series, there are a couple memorable moments from that storied rivalry in Series 3)

We believe doing these things, along with our alt cleanup, will help avoid the “bumps” we saw with the Series 1 Spire Friends + Rivals cards. We’re admittedly trying new things with the Friends + Rivals cards and hope to make the way we release ever Series better and more fun.
