Why You Might Give Friending a Try On Baseball Boss
Thursday, May 14th, 2009As you all have seen in our updates the last few weeks, we’ve really emphasized the notion of friending lately on Baseball Boss. There is much we want to do with the game, and we absolutely hear all your feedback and suggestions - new spins on Class play, new milestones, tournaments, league improvements, bug fixes. It’s all in our queue.
We believe games in general are more fun when you are playing and competing with friends, and when you can make new friendships within the game. That’s a big reason we did Series 1 of Friends + Rivals this week - to make it worth your while to get friends to accept your invites. Up until the last few updates, becoming friends on Baseball Boss was a pretty loose bond…it didn’t mean much. But with the friend dropdowns and Pressbox/My Feed feature, that has really changed.
Friending in Baseball Boss is more like “following” on Twitter than it is like becoming friends on Facebook. Both of you don’t have to accept an invitation. So it’s easier to do - you don’t have wait for your invitation to be accepted or be concerned about running the social risk of being rejected. When you friend/follow someone, it just happens. After you friend/follow someone, the feeds start to make things interesting. You can see when they are online, what notable accomplishments their teams have achieved and news about what’s going on with them in Baseball Boss. We’re going to be adding publishing events and tightening up what is appearing in “My Feed” so it’s more relevant to you…
So we’d suggest you give friending/following a try if you haven’t yet. Invite your real life friends to Baseball Boss (if they’re from Facebook and accept, you’l get free packs). Add the people you’ve gotten to know in Baseball Boss as a friend (or a rival). We believe you’ll really find it fun seeing what your friends are up to.
