Schilling for Senate?
As reported by various media outlets, legendary Boston Red Sox hero Curt Schilling is considering running for the Senate seat left vacant by the death of Edward Kennedy.
Politically speaking, Schilling is officially an “independent” that just so happened to campaign for President Bush in 2004 and Senator John McCain in 2008. Though Curt is no newcomer to overcoming overwhelming odds, the last time a Republican won a Senate seat in the blue state of Massachusetts was 1972. So if this were the American League Championship Series - and years were games, Democrats were Yankees (which is ironically high comedy to consider) - he would be facing a seemingly insurmountable 37-0 deficit. I can’t believe I’m actually saying this…but I wouldn’t count him out.
With the grace of an eloquent statesman whose statements never inspire vitriol towards him by his own fanbase or others, Schilling described his take on the current state of Amuricah to the Boston Herald as follows:
Let the jokes about bloody-sock quality healthcare reform and MMO-based foreign policy experience commence.
Challenge Games
Duels
Duels Defense
Baseball Boss

His comments to radio station WEEI this morning: “[Running] would be fun. The whole spotlight media crap, not so much.”
Truly, a quote-for-fodder machine.

Curt Schilling still making politically incorrect statements and ticking off pretty much everybody? Nice to know some things stay the same.

Oh, and I do not support MMO-based policies. [MoMo-biased policies, however ….]

Yikes! I hope Schilling does not replace the fabled Kennedy in a very heroic and vital spot in America’s political system.
